2005 NISSAN ARMADA Service Brakes, Hydraulic problems & defects.

NISSAN ARMADA Service Brakes, Hydraulic problems : 76.

I Own A nissan armada Suv (model Le 5.6 V8). The Car Was Purchased New In 3/2005 And Now Has Some 3000 Miles. We Experienced Strong Vibration Of The Steering Wheel While Braking And Took The Car To The service Dept. At The Reno (nv) Dealership. Yesterday, The Dealership Told Us That nissan Has A Problem With All armada & Titan Models Of 2004/2005 And The Problem Is Causing All Brakes To Vibrate As The Brake Discs Touch The Brake Pads. This Is Apparently Something That nissan Knows For A While Because All The Parts Are On “back Order” And Will Not Be Available For A Few Months And Involves > 100,000 Vehicles. The Dealer Told Us That The Problem May Come Back In A Few Months / Thousands Of Miles And For The Meantime The “brakes Were Warped” Which Is A Temporary Fix. We Are Interested To Investigate Why (a) nissan Has Not Declared A Formal Recall To Fix The Problem And Make Customers Aware That A Problem Exists And (b) To Find Out If The Problem Is Hazardous To Life And If Other People Complained About The Same Problem. Thank You. *nm

1) Just Traded My Car In For A “brand New” 2005 nissan armada In January 2006. The Brake Light On The Dashboard Lights Up While Driving. It Has About 4000 Miles On It. The Problem Started At 600 Miles. I Bought The Suv With Over 400 Miles On It. 2) The Brake Light On The Dashboard Lights Up While Driving. As You Apply The Brakes, The Brake Pedal Vibrakes And Makes A Clicking/mechanical Noise. This Happens Every 5-7 Days. It Has Happened Several Times With My Family (we Have A 5 Yr-old And A 2 Yr-old) In The Suv. We Have Had To Stop In The Middle Of The Intersection Or Pull Over To The Side Of The Road, While Blocking The Right Lane Many Times. 3) To Temporarily Correct The Problem, You Would Have To Pull Over Asap. There Were Times Where I Had To Just Stop The Vehicle As The Suv Would Just Vibrate And The Braking Appears To Be Weak. Once Pulled Over, You Have To Stop The Ignition And Restart The Car. I Took It To My Dealer And They Said They Only Had To Replace The Fuses. Then About 1-2 Weeks Later, I Had To Drive It To Another Dealer, Where They Described The Rotors As Being Warped. They Put In A New Brake Kit But The Problem Remains. *nm

This Will Be My Second Complain Filed For The Same Vehicle. At 14000 Miles My Vehicle Once Again Is Having Brake Failure I Took In My Vehicle And service Manager Suggested That It Might Be My Brake Pads And It Will Cost Me Aprox. $200 To $300 Taking In My The My Brake Pads And Rotors Had Already Been Replaced At 7000 Miles. After Being In The Shop For 2 Days They Found Nothing Wrong With My Pads, However I My Problem Still Continued, When Downhill I Would Feel Grinding When Braking And If I Suddenly Brake I Felt It Even More. To One Point That I Almost Hit A Car In Front Of Me Thank God I Was Able To Stop Because I Was Probably Going About 10 Mph. I Finally Took My Vehicle Back To The Shop And This Time They Found The Problem To Be Brake Pads, And Rotors But No Charge Is Going To Be Made To Me Because It Is Covered By Warranty. *nm

While Driving My 2005 nissan armada Last Fall, I Tapped The Brakes And Encountered A Severe Vibration Phenomena That I Had Never Experienced On A Vehicle Before. I Stopped. Turned Off Vehicle. Called For My Husband To Help. When He Arrived, I Started The Car And The Problem Was Gone. I Took It To My Local Dealer In Manchester, Tn (roberts nissan 931-728-2212). At That Time, The Vehicle Was Still Under Warranty. They Were Unable To Reproduce The Vibration Or To Find The Problem, But They Went Ahead And Changed Out Some Brake Pads And Did Some Repair On The Rotors. I Had No Further Problems Until This Month. This Time My Husband Was With Me When The Same Vibration Occurred. He Thought That It Felt Like The Abs Was Trying To Kick In For Some Unknown Reason. I Had Never Had An Abs Vehicle, So I Wasn’t Familiar With That Type Of Braking Reaction. I Called The Dealer And Told Them That The Exact Same Thing Had Happened Again And That I Was Bringing The Vehicle To Them. This Time They Told Me That They Had Seen That Same Type Of Thing On A Titan Truck Recently. Sure Enough, After Checking They Discovered An Abs Transducer Needed Replacing. It Was Back Ordered, And They Gave Me Another Car To Drive Because They Felt That It Would Be Unsafe For Me To Drive The Vehicle. They Were Afraid Of The Problem Occurring While Driving At Highway Speed On The Interstate. Although The Problem Was First Noticed And Reported While Under Warranty, nissan Would Not Fully Cover The Repair. It Apparently Was Also A Safety Issue. I Believe That The Dealer Was Trying To Help, But I Am Very Disappointed With nissan And Filed A Complaint (file #5775171). I Felt That My Repair Bill Should’ve Been Covered Entirely. I Also Wonder If Perhaps A Recall Should Be Done Based On The Safety Issue And The Fact That The Part Was Back Ordered Which Leads Me To Believe There May Be Many Others With The Same Problem. My Repair Bill Was $782.67.

Once She Finally Came To A Stop And Turned The Car Off And Back On, Everything Was Okay. I Spoke To The service Reps, And They Said This Is A Known Issue And nissan Haven’t Done A Recall (they Were Very Concerned About This). This Is Very Alarming Because I Own An ?05 armada That My Wife Drives With Our Two Children. I Went Online, And Found Cases Of This Happening All Over With Too Many Close Calls. Driving My 2005 nissan armada, Pushed On Brake Pedal To Stop Only To Find The Brakes Failed Completely, The Brake Light Came On, And The Pedal Went To The Floor. Brakes Made A “grinding” Noise And I Was Able To Put In Neutral Until Stopped And Then To Park. Turned Vehicle Off, And Problem Disappeared. When I Went To The Dealer They Said Nothing Was Wrong And I Was Ok To Keep Driving! *tr

I Rounded A Corner At About 35 Mph (pulling A Trailer) And My Antilock Brakes System Went Haywire. The Brakes Were Pulsing Madly, And The Truck Slowed Slightly. I Pushed On The Brake Pedal And Nothing Happened. I Could Not Stop The Truck!! Luckily, Nobody Was On The Street And I Was Able To Put It In Neutral And Turn The Engine Off While Still Moving About 25 Mph And Restart The Engine At Which Time The System Reset Itself. Upon Going To The nissan Dealer, I Was Informed That The Vcd System (brake Actuator) Needed A Software Upgrade And That There Was A service Bulletin Issued For This Problem From nissan. I’m Appalled That This Dangerous Problem Where The Driver Cannot Control The Brakes Or Stop The Vehicle Is A Known Problem, Yet There Is No Recall, Or Attempt To Notify Owners… Someone Is Going To Get Hurt As A Result Of This. Not To Mention That nissan Made Me Pay $170.00 To Reprogram This Faulty Critical Component… Owners Need To Be Made Aware Of This Problem. I Called Customer service And They Didn’t Want To Hear It. *tr

While Backing Out Of A Parking Space And Applying Brakes, The Brakes Suddenly Began To Grind And Shutter Very Loudly And Wouldn’t Function Properly – It Was As If They Were Locked Up. The Brake Light Came On And I Was Only Able To Come To A Stop By Down Shifting And Applying The Emergency Brake At The Same Time. All The While It Was Grinding Terribly. I Had Trouble With The Brakes When We First Purchased The Car – But This Is The First Time Since 2005. I Proceeded Very Slowly To My Local Repair Shop (rpm Automotive) Where They Did A Computer Check On The Braking System. They Had Seen This Same Problem On Several armadas Already This Year. The Referred Me To The Dealership Since They Did Not Have The “code” Number Needed To Correct The Problem. My Car Is Currently At The Dealership service Department. I Think If I Had Been On The Highway That I Would Have Had An Accident. The Dealership Feels That This Is No Big Deal And The Brakes Will Be Fine Once They Fix The Computer. I Am Very Frightened About Driving It Again. *tr

I Was Driving My 2005 nissan armada Se When Coming Up To A Stop Light And Had To Apply My Brakes To Stop And They Failed. The Brake Pedal Shuddered And Could Hear A Metal Squeal Coming From The Front Brakes. Scared Me To Death. Had My Infant Son With Me And Was Really Shaken That I Almost Hit Another Car In Front Of Me. Since I Wasn’t In A Area To Where I Could Pull Over Right Away, I Began To Pull Away From The Stop Light Very Slowly. When No Cars Were Around And I Felt It Safe To Apply My Brakes Again, The Same Thing Happened! The Brake Light On The Instrument Panel Came On And I Felt A Grinding Noise, And Shudder Feeling When Apply Pressure On The Brake Pedal. I Finally Pulled The Vehicle Over Right Away And Called For A Tow Truck To Tow To Dealer. Explained To Dealer What Had Happened And They Told Me They Had Heard About This Type Of Problem Before And That nissan Had Released A service Bulletin About It. My service Advisor Told Me That It Was A Vdc (vehicle Dynamic Control) Module Failure. He Went On To Say That Sometimes You Can Turn Off The Vehicle And Turn Back On And It Will Reset Itself. Very Scary!!! I Purchased An Extended Warranty When I Purchased My armada And The Dealer Told Me That This Was Not Covered And It Would Cost Me $115 To Fix. I Think nissan Would Be Well Advised To Issue A Recall About This Situation. I Would Hate To Be Going Down The Highway At 75 Mph And Have To Apply My Brakes Suddenly And Have Them Not Work Properly Or Scary Yet Someone Gets Killed. *tr

I Have A 2005 nissan armada That Is Experiencing Intermittent Brake Light/brake Failure. The Symptoms Happen After Initially Turning On The Vehicle And Driving For About 200 Yards. When The Brakes Are Applied, The Brake Light Will Come On Simultaneously With Front Brake Noise. The Brake Pedal Will Be Very “mushy”, But The Vehicle Will Stop. After Stopping And Turning The Vehicle Off, The Error Resets. This Problem Has Happened At Least Five Times In The Last Two Months. I’ve Taken The Vehicle To The Dealer And They Claim There Isn’t Any Error Code Stored So They Can’t Diagnose The Problem To Fix It. I Searched The Internet To See If This Was A Known Problem And Have Found Many Other Incidents, Including This Website To Report This Safety Concern. *tr

2005 nissan armada. My Airbag Sensor Light Has Turned On And Remained On For No Apparent Reason. The Vehicle Has Not Been In An Accident And Was Recently serviced By The Local nissan Dealership About A Week Ago. Prior To The Issue Of The Air Bag Light The Braking System Appears To Be Intermittent In Stopping The Suv, Which Is Also Felt In The Brake Pedal While Braking. I Have Addressed This To The Dealership But They Could Not Identify The Cause. This All May Or May Not Be Related But This Is Very Important To The Safety Of Driving. To My Knowledge Similar Problems Are Addressed In The 2007 And 2008 nissans Vehicles But Nothing Yet For My 05 armada. How Can You Help? I Would Hate For These Problems To Be The Cause Of An Accident One Day. These Complaints Are Very Similar To Others On Your Web Site. *tr

Regarding 2005 nissan armada Brake Issue…i Was Driving Reaching To The Speed Of 35mph And When I Came To A Stop At Intersection I Notice That My Brake Light Was On. Applied The Brakes And There Was No Brakes. You Could Hear Noise Coming From The Front End Like Metal Grinding. I Pulled Over The A Parking Lot And Check Under The Hood To See If The Brake Fluid Was Low, But It Was Full. Drove The Car The Elk Grove nissan And Told Them What Had Happened. In Response, They Told Me That They Can Not Find A Problem And Continue Driving The Car Until The Light Comes Back On And Drive It Directly To The Dealership So They Can Pull The Cold. I Told Them That They Are Crazy, Because This Is A Safety Issue And I Can Put My Life In Danger By Driving The Suv There Without Proper Brakes. They Told Me At The Time, They Can Not Help Me Until The Light Comes Back On. I Asked The Dealership To See If There’s A Recall Or Bulletin Out For This And They Told Me No. Further Investigation Needs To Follow Up On This Because Tons Of People Who Owns This Model Could Die From Accidents Due To The Suv Having This Problem. Also, Proper Protocol Needs To Be Follow With The Mfg And Dealership Regarding This Issue. Please Advise. This Matter Needs To Be Address To The Dealership And Fix The Darn Problem Before Many Lives Are Lost Due To This Matter. They Need To Seek Proper Procedures Before A Big Law Suit Is In Place. *tr

Backing Out Of A Driveway, I Pushed On The Brakes Softly And It Sounded Like A Deep, Mechanical Groan. I Didn’t Really Think Anything Of It Until I Reached My First Stop. I Applied Pressure On The Brake And The Sound Was There Again. My Children Were In The Vehicle And They Kept Asking What Was Wrong With The Car. I Decided It Would Be Safer To Take Neighborhood Side-streets. I Proceeded Very, Very Slowly Because The Breaks Were Unpredictable At That Point. I Was Scared To Apply All The Pressure Because I Was Afraid That If I Pressed As I Normally Do , The Brakes Would Just Give Out, So I Pushed On The Brake Very Lightly, Which Only Made It Worse Because The Softer I Pressed The Less It Functioned, The Pedal Just Kept Going Down- Making That Deep Metal-grinding Noise, It Took A While For The Breaks To Actually Kick It And Stop The Vehicle. I Drove On Egg-shells The Rest Of The Way Home, Thank Goodness There Was Not Much Traffic At The Time, Otherwise I Would Have Been In Serious Trouble. I Fear This Happening In The Freeway Because That Would Be Tragic- Especially With Children In The Car. *tr

Seems Like The Abs Took Over And Assumed That The Vehicle Was Loosing Traction. The Light Stayed On And So Was The Problem With The Brake System As I Pressed The Brake Pedal. I Pulled Over To The Curb And Turned Off The Car, Walked Around Assuming Something Was Under The Car And There Was Nothing. Started The Car And The And The Brake Light On The Dash Went Away And So Did The Problem. This Has Happened To Me Twice And Is Very Unsafe When Driving In Traffic. There Is A Forum On nissanhelp Where This Issue Has Happened To Many People And The Problem Is Not Resolved When The Vehicle Is Taken To The Dealership To Get The Problem Fixed. Please Help With This Issue As It Is Unsafe To Drive The Vehicle Because The Light Comes On Unexpectedly And Goes Away When The Vehicle Is Restarted And Untraceable. *tr

We Have A 2005 nissan armada (which Was Purchased New) It Has Had An Issue Where The “brake” Light Comes On And There Is Rapid Pulsating/grinding Noise From The Brake System. During This Event, The Brake Stopping Distance Is Severely Impacted And Braking Is Dangerously Inconsistent. We Have Brought Vehicle Into nissan Dealer And Been Told Because There “is No Current Stored Code” They Could Not Do Anything For Us And That We Needed “to Drive The Vehicle In While This Event Occurred”, So They Could See What Happened. There Is No Way It Would Be Remotely Safe To Do So!!!! nissan You Are Requesting A Very Unsafe Procedure!!!!!! Each Time This Brake Issue Has Happened (at Least 6 With My Wife And 1 With Me), We Were Fortunate Enough To Pull The Vehicle Over And Turn It Off. In Doing So It Appears The Vehicle “reset” And Once Turned Back On The Vehicle Appeared To Operate Properly. Here Are Our Occurrences: – Once On/or Around 9/2005- Didn’t Think Much At This Point As We Already Had Heard About Issues With Rotors And Thought That Was Connected – 4/23/2007- Went To Dealer – 8/13/2008- Called Dealer Told To Drive It In While It Was Happening By Dealer – Right Before 10/8/2008 On 10/8 We Brought Into Dealer For This Problem And A Couple Other Issues – 5/14/2009 – 5/18/2009 – 5/26/2009 It Happened To Me With Both Of My Grade School Boys On Vacation In Rush Hour Traffic In Northern California. The Vehicle Had A Very Clear Issue And I Had To Make Some Tough Traffic Negotiations To Get Off Of The Freeway. Once Off I Turned Off The Vehicle And Sat There For A Short Period Of Time. I Turned It Back On And Luckily Made It To My Destination Without Further Incident. I Will Be Speaking With The nissan Dealership Again, To Give Them One Last Chance To Try And Fix This Issue. They Have Done Nothing As Of Yet And Appear To Lack Any Interest In Fixing This Problem. Take A Look At Any Forums Or Car Complaint Web-sites There Are Numerous Such Complaints For Same Issue. *tr

I Have A 2005 nissan armada And The Brakes Have Been Giving Me Problems Since I Bought The Suv. Initially It Was Only Warped Rotors And Excessive Brake Pad Wear, But Now The Brakes Have Nearly Failed On Me Three Times. When I Applied The Brakes, It Appears That The Anti-lock Brakes Kick In, The Brake Pedal Depresses Further, And A Loud Groaning Noise Can Be Heard Emanating From The Brakes. This Problem Has Occurred Three Times In The Rain Under Very Moderate Braking Condition (parking Lot Conditions) And When The Parking Brake Has Been Used Due To Parking On A Hill. When The Event Occurs The Parking Light , The Slip, And Vdc Lights Comes On. *tr

I Have A 2005 nissan armada. I Was Driving And Starting To Brake When All Of A Sudden My Brake Light Came On And A Loud Grinding Noise Was Heard From The Front Of My armada. I Almost Lost Braking Capability. I Applied The Brakes Again And The Same Thing Happened With The Loud Noise And Limited Braking Ability. I Pulled Over On The Side Of The Road, Turned The Vehicle Off And Restarted The Truck And The Problem Was Gone For That Moment. A Few Weeks Later, It Happened Again, So I Took It Into The nissan Dealer And They Told Me It Was A Code Error And It Had Been Reset (it Was Still Under Warranty Then). Well, It Has Since Happened About 10 More Times. I Had My Husband Take It To Another nissan Dealer And They Told Him It Was The Brake Booster, And Would Cost Approximately $900 To Fix. We Did Not Pay The Money To Have Fixed. The Last Incident Was This Morning With My Two Small Daughters In The Truck With Me. I Was In 3 Lanes Of Traffic And Was Starting To Apply The Brakes, When The Brake Light Came On And The Vdc Light And Two Other Panel Lights. This Morning, It Was The Worst It Had Been Since It Started. I Normally Have A Little Bit Of Brakes, But This Morning When I Tapped The Brakes, It Brought The Vehicle To A Complete Sudden Stop In 3 Lanes Of Traffic, Then, I Let Off The Brake And Tried To Ease Up And Reapply The Brakes And It Brought It To A Complete Stop Again. I Turned The Truck Off And It Cleared Itself. I Called My Husband And Told Him. Once I Got To Work, I Started To Do Some Research And I Find That I Am Not The Only Person Experiencing This Problem! I Count Myself Lucky This Morning That I Was Not Rear Ended Because I Had My Two Small Daughters In My Truck With Me!!!! nissan Needs To Do Something About This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *tr

Vehicle: 2005 nissan armada Failure: Complete Failure Of The Brake System Incident: While Driving Lost Complete Brake System, Leaving Me With No Ability To Stop The Vehicle. The Problem Resolved Itself By Restarting The Vehicle. Resolution: I Took The Vehicle To The Dealer And Was Told They Could Not Repeat The Issue And That They Would “reflash” The Ecm That “should” Correct The Problem. After Researching This I Found Many Other Owner Of 2004 – 2007 nissan armada And Titan Vehicle Had The Same Problem. The Problem Is Best Described As An Intermittent Complete Failure Of The Brake System That Is Resolved By Restarting The Vehicle. After Many Complaints To nissan And The Dealer They Decided To Replace The Power Brake Booster Saying That Any Component Failure That Causes This Must Be Contained In The Brake Booster. They Also Stated That They Have Replaced Other Customers Brake Boosters With The Same Problem. This Is A Major Safety Issue That nissan Needs To Make There Customers Aware Of!!!! *tr

The Brakes Make A Crunching, Springy Noise With The Pedal Being Extremely Soft Until It Gets Closer To The Floor And Begins To Give Braking Power. When Ignition Is Turned Off, The Problem Resolves At Least Temporarily. When The Engine Has Turned Off, I Have Had The Problem Reoccur As Soon As 5 Minutes And As Long As 31 Months. I Made A Video Of One Of My Instances @ Http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmtpofdbjr8 I First Experienced The Braking Problem Back In 3/06 With ~12,000 Miles On The Vehicle. The Dealer Was Not Able To Duplicate The Issue, But It Had Happened To Me 3-4 Times Prior To Getting It To The Dealer. During The Visit, They Performed The Judder Brake Bulletin service. The Description Of The Judder Brake Bulletin Did Not Seem To Fit My Problem, But The Car No Longer Had The Issue. Then The Issue Recurred At ~46,000 Miles In 10/08. Again The Brakes Did Not Have Full Power For 3-5 Times Prior To Getting It To The Dealer. I Was Able To Demonstrate The Problem To My Local Mechanic, But When He Shut Down The Engine, The Problem Resolved. I Returned The Car To The Dealer. The Computer Did Not Have Any Repair Codes Stored, But They Performed Tsb 06-040, A Computer Software Update. The Car Was Fine Until 6/25/10 When The Problem Recurred. It Occurred Three Times Throughout The Day. I Started Tracking The Occurrences: 6/27 X 1, 6/28 X1. I Made A Appointment With The service Manager At The Dealership On 6/29. I Kept The Car And It Reproduced The Problem 7/1 And 7/4@ 70,697miles. I Made Arrangements To Allow Them To Take The Car And Get A Loaner So That They Could Hopefully Reproduce The Problem. Fortunately, It Did Not Cause An Accident, But The Brakes When Applied Did Not Cause The Vehicle To Stop And There Was A Grinding Noise When I Applied Pressure To The Pedal. I Had The Vehicle Towed To The Dealer Where They Discovered A Code C1179 Which Required Them To Replace The Brake Booster Sensor. The Repair Was Over $800 Which Included The Cost Of Towing The Vehicle. I Have Learned That nissan Issued A service Bulletin For The Issue On May 12, 2006. I Have A 2005 nissan armada That Has Had Anti Lock Brakes Engaging At All Different Times In Conditions That It Should Not Be Engaging In(example:sunny, Clear Road ,90 Degree Summer Weather)this Leaves Me With Very Little Braking Ability.this Is A Major Safety Issue Especially When I Have Small Children In My Vehicle. I Have Brought It To The nissan service Dept. Several Times And They Tell Me That Everything Is Fine And Cannot Replicate The Problem. I Have Googled The Problem On The Net And Found Numerous Sites With Pages Upon Pages Of Complaints Over This Same Problem With My Exact Scenarios Of Driving Conditions And What Happens To The Vehicle. I Proceeded To nissan Headquarters To Explain My Problem And That I Am Not The Only One That nissan Has Failed To Help. They Refuse To Recognize That This Is A Major Safety Issue Happening To Numerous nissan armadas Years 2004 Thru 2006. I Said I Want A Rental Paid For By Them And I Want nissan To Keep The Car Till They Can Rectify This Obvious Wide Known Safety Problem. They Told Me That nissan Is Not Responsible For This Problem Nor Acknowledges It & That The Vehicle Owners Are And At Vehicle Owners Cost To Drop Off The Vehicle For A Undetermined Amount Of Time(this Could Be A Week To Many Weeks Before Problem Occurs Again & It Is Stated By Numerous Owners That Is How Undetermined When It Happens)till They Can Hopefully Replicate The Problem And Repair It At Owners Cost Along With Rental Vehicle Cost. This Is Not A Wear And Tear Problem Caused By The Owners Of This Vehicle Model This Is A Manufacture Defect That nissan Refuses To Admit And Create A Recall On This Anti Lock Brake System. They Also Proceeded To Tell Me That If I Can’t Afford A Rental For Who Knows How Many Weeks That It Could Be To Wait Till The Problem Occurs Myself And Drive It To The Dealer. That Is A Unacceptable Unsafe Answer Form Them To Tell The Consumer To Drive Your Vehicle Till You Have No Brakes Then Bring It In. Something Must Be Done! *tr

I Have A 2005 nissan armada, The Problem Is Complete Brake Failure. When Traveling At Slow Speeds (<20mph) The Brake System Gives Out Completely. The Brake Pedal Goes To The Floor, The Red Brake Dash Light Comes On And The Abs And Vdc Systems Go Into A Confused Array Of Mixed Signals And Sounds Trying To Correct The Failed Brake System. At The Time Of Failure The Braking Power Is <25% Of Normal. In A Panic Stop Or While Trailering A Load There Would Be No Way To Avoid A Crash And Injury. This Failure Occurred 5 Times In One Day Before The Vehicle Was Towed To nissan. The Scariest Part Of This Failure Is That By Turning The Vehicle Off And Restarting It, Resets The System Failure And Everything Functions Completely Normal For A Time, Leading The Driver To Believe That It Was Just A Computer Error That Needed Reset. nissan Reported That It Was Code C1179, Delta Sensor Failure And Required A New Delta Sensor And Brake Vacuum Booster. The Vehicle Currently Has Only 39,458 Miles On It. This Is A Major Safety Issue, This Vehicle Is Rated To Tow 9100lbs, When The Failure Occurs The Vehicle Can Barely Stop Its Own Weight. The Stopping Distance During Failure Going 20mph Was Approx. 200 To 300 Feet With Only One Occupant. nissan Knew Exactly What The Problem Was When I Called Them So I Am Not The Only One To Have This Occurrence. Upon Researching I Found 48 Complaints That Match Mine On Aboutautomobiles.com. These People All Took The Time Like Me To Create An Account And Voice Their Concerns In Much Detail. This Is A Manufacturing Defect That Should Not Be Occurring On Any Vehicle. Please Correct This Problem Before Someone Gets Hurt!!

My Husband Was Leaving Work In 2005 nissan armada, He Heard A Strange Grinding Noise Coming From Front Brakes As He Tried To Stop At A Stop Sign Then Realized He Had No Brakes. He Managed To Drive The 10 Miles Home With No Brakes. We Drove To Nearest nissan Dealer The Next Day And Was Told It Was An Electrical Issue In The Master Brake Cylinder And Would Cost 900.00 To Fix. After Checking Online Forums We Realized This Is An Issue With Many More Owners, That nissan Fails To Do Anything About. How Many People Have To Get Seriously Hurt Before nissan Will Admit That There Is A Serious Issue With The Brakes For This Model. *tr

My 2005 nissan armada‘s Air Bag Srs System Is Inoperable. The Dashboard Light Indicated A Failure Of The Airbag System While The Vehicle Was Under Warranty And I Thought It Was Repaired After Several Instances. I Have Taken The Vehicle To Several Mechanics To Have The Srs System Repaired. nissan Claimed It Has Been Everything From The Seatbelt Tensioners, Sensor Modules Under The Seats To Bad Electrical Connectors. All Of These Components Have Been Replaced But My Dash Lights Show I Still Have Inoperative Airbags. The Srs System On My armada Is Currently In Failure Again And I Cannot Afford To Pay nissan Again To Attempt To Repair The Problem. I Also Have A Second Issue With The Abs Brakes Activating Randomly During Normal Slow Speed Stops In Which The Brakes Shake Violently And With Little Stopping Force. It Seems The Abs System Is Activating Under Light Operational Conditions. This Has Been A Re-occurring Problem Each Summer. nissan Cannot Duplicate The Problem So I Have Been Sent Home Without Remedy. I Am Complaining Because I Have No Other Recourse Except To Warn Others Before Someone Is Seriously Hurt Or Killed Through The Failure Of The Brakes Or The Airbags. I Am The Original Owner And The Vehicle Has Not Been Modified In Any Manner. *tr

When Driving Our nissan armada, There Was A Grinding Noise Upon Braking. A Few Seconds Later, The Brake Light Appears. As The Car Is Still Moving & Braking Again, The Grinding Is Still There & It Sounds Like Metal, However, When Applying Pressure To The Brake Pedal, It Feels Like There Are No Brakes. I Would Have To Brake Well Ahead To Avoid Hitting The Car In Front Of Me. As I Accelarte The Gas, The armada Has A Hard Time Picking Up Speed (this Is A V8 Vehicle With Lots Of Power) & Feels Sluggish Trying To Go Beyond 40 Miles Per Hour. I Would Have To Pull Over And Turn Car Off Completely For A Few Minutes & Restart Vehicle. We Have 2 Children That We Drive Around In This Unsafe Vehicle Especially With The Brake Problem. This Instance Has Happened On More Than 4 Occasions & Both My Husband & I Experienced It. My Husband Was On The Freeway When It Happened To Him. I Brought The Car To A nissan Dealership When It Happened To Me While I Was Driving. I Went Straight Over To nissan With Kids In Tow & Paid Approximately $85 With No Results. service Tech States They Did Not Find Anything Wrong & Did Not Fix Anything. I Know I Am Not The Only One With This Braking Problem. The Braking Problem Happened Again This Morning While Driving On My Way To Work. I Stopped For A Minute, Turned Off The Ignition, & Restarted It. The Problem This Time Did Not Go Away. I Feel Very Unsafe. Does Something Tragic Need To Happen First Before nissan Addresses This Problem? There Are Numerous Forums On The Web Claiming Brake Problems With The nissan armada, However, It Has Not Been Properly Addressed Or Fixed Permantly. I Did My Research & All I Can See Are Temporary Fixes. Please…please…before Anything Tragic May Happen (ex: Toyota/lexus Brake Recalls), Have nissan Find A Permanent Solution. There Are Many armada Drivers Out There That Are At A High Risk Of An Accident.

We Have Had Several Incidents With The nissan armada Since Owning The Vehicle New. Basically, The Brakes Fail On The Car And It Becomes Very Difficult To Stop The Vehicle. It Becomes Unsafe To Drive. It Is A Known Problem With The armada And Titan And nissan Continues To Deny The Problem. My Wife Nearly Had 2 Accidents During The Incidents. The Dealer States Turning The Car On And Off Resets It But There Is No Way To Determine When It Can Happen Again. It Is Extremely Dangerous And Should Be Addressed With A Recall By nissan.

My 2005 nissan armada Have Brake Problems The Vehicle At No Particular Time The Brakes Will Fail Having A Spring Clonk Noise Several Times Coming From The Front Brakes When This Problem Happens The Vehicle Will Not Stop The Brake Pedal Will Travel All The Way Down With No Braking Power To The Wheels. This Problem Has Happened To Me Many Times Over The Years, I Have Taken The Vehicle In Numerous Times To nissan Dealers. Unfortunately Dealer Can’t Replicate This Problem Telling Me That There Is Nothing Wrong With The Brakes. Now My Warranty Is Over And There Is No Way That The Dealer Will Cover These Expenses. I Have Told The Dealers That This Is A Very Serious Problem That Somebody Could Die If There Is No Brakes That nissan Should Recall The Brakes, So Far nissan Has Not Done Anything To Fix This Issue. *kb

2005 nissan armada Abs Issues. Vehicle Brakes Just Start Grindiing And Grinding When Brake Is Applied And Braking Power Is At A Minimum. If You Turn Off The Vehicle And Restart Is Seems To Work For A While. This Is A Very Intermittant Problem But Very Very Dangerous. I Was Applying Brakes To Slow Down And Turn Into A Grocery Store Drive And The Brake Light Came On, They Started Making A Horrible Grinding Noise Like The Brakes Were Falling Apart….stopping Power Greatly Dimished But Luxkily I Was Able To Pull To Shoulder And Limp Into Lot. 2005 nissan armada- Our Problem Seems To Be The Same As Countless Others With No Answer In Sight. We Will Apply The Brakes When We Are At A Slower Speed (<30mph) And The Brakes Will Fail. They Pulsate, Grind, And Push In A Spongey Feel All The Way To The Floor With Very Minimal Braking Results. My Wife Drives This Car With Our 3 Year Old Daughter So You Can Imagine Our Concern. We Are Planning To Sell The Car And Get Something Else, But Would Like To Have The Brakes Fixed First. But From What I See, nissan Is Going To Do Nothing To Help And The Government Must Be Turning A Blind Eye To An Issue That Is Obviously A Serious Safety Risk For Not Just Owners Of These armadas, But For Other Drivers And Pedestrians Walking The Streets As Well. *kb

Driving Fine Then After Stopping At A Stop Sign, Car Would Not Accelerate, Like It Is In A Higher Gear. After Reaching 10mph It Drives Perfectly Fine. If After Stopping You Cut The Engine And Restart, It Is Fine. Reverse Works Fine. Code P1757 Comes Up On Test. A Bad Valve Body. I’ve Seen This All Over The Internet Mostly On nissan ’05 Models, Maybe Some ’06. Very Frustrating, nissan Says I Need A Whole New Transmission. I’m Thinking A Recall Should Be Looked Into. It Doesn’t Seem To Happen On Other Year Models As Much. *tt

Driving Home About 45 Mph, The Brake Light Came On. I Slowed Down For The Upcoming Red Light But The Brakes Did Not Work, They Went Into Abs Mode So I Removed My Foot From The Pedal, Re-applied Pressure To The Brake Pedal And The Brakes Started Pulsing And Grinding Violently. I Could Not Stop For The Red Light So I Dropped It Down Into 4th Gear And Made A Hard Right Turn About 25 Mph. Thankfully There Was Little Traffic So No Accident And No One Was Hurt. I Drove The Remaining Two Miles Homes At 25 Mph And Without Using The Brakes Until I Got To My Driveway. I Applied Very Light Pressure On The Brake Pedal And Little Noise But Not Much Stopping Power, Thankfully My Driveway Is Uphill. When I Got Home I Looked Up armada Brake Failure And Realized That There Were Hundreds Of Posts Dating Back To 2004, So This Appears To Be A Common Issue With The Brake Booster And Computer. *js

I Have Had A Braking Problem With My nissan armada For Years & Years. When Driving, The Brake Light On The Dash Will Come On & When You Apply The Brakes It Will Make A Grinding Noise & Barely Stop. Yesterday, While I Was Driving 68 Mph In The Fast Lane On The Freeway The Brake Light, Vdc Light & Slip Light Randomly Came On The Dash, I Had Not Applied The Brakes. I Have Included A Picture Of My Dash Yesterday When This Occurred. I Knew From Experience That I Now Had Compromised Braking So I Quickly Pulled Over To The Right & Got Off The Freeway At The First Exit. My Car Slowly Ground To A Stop. It Took A Much Longer Distance To Stop Than It Should Have. As Always, When You Turn The Car Off & Restart, It Resets, And The Brakes Work Again. Whenever I Have Taken The Car In & Mentioned This Problem They Always Act As If They Have Never Heard Of This Problem Before. The First Time I Experienced This Was Probably When The Car Was 2 Years Old & It Has Happened Intermittently Throughout The Years, Probably About 5 To 10 Times A Year. nissan Must Be Aware Of This Problem, It Is All Over The Internet If You Investigate. *tr Updated 06/17/13
